War on Waste
The War on Waste task force assembled in Spring 2010 at Swarthmore College in response to a lack of a comprehensive campus composting system. Students with the Good Food Project had initiated a composting effort in 2008, focusing on kitchen scraps from the campus dining hall, but other sources of food waste on campus were not being addressed. The WoW members focused on a strong waste awareness campaign and extended the composting system to include waste from student dormitories, dining hall left-overs, and compostable plates and cups from three on-campus cafés.
I worked with the WoW team to design a powerful logo, promotional materials, composting manual, and waste map for students and "Green Advisors" at Swarthmore College.
